What is a flush?

A flush is a poker hand consisting of five cards of the same suit. The cards can be any rank, but they must all be of the same suit. For example, a flush could be five hearts, five spades, five diamonds, or five clubs. The highest ranking flush possible is the Ace-high flush, with all five cards of the same suit from ace to ten. In most poker games, a flush beats a straight but is beaten by a full house or higher hand. To achieve a flush, a player must have five cards of the same suit in their hand or on the board that they can use. A flush is a strong hand in poker and can often win a pot if other players do not have a higher-ranked hand.
